The legend is: Katharine Hepburn's father dated Natalie Lancaster, dean of women at ATS, when they were young and both lived in Ashland, VA. So K. Hepburn's father decided to come and visit his old flame Natalie and brought his famous daughter with him. Katharine went up to Natalie and embraced her and exclaimed "my almost mother!"
